A chauffeur who reads downtown Toronto before the light turns
Toronto is not a hard city to drive so much as a slow one, and that difference decides how early a car has to leave. Below Bloor the grid is cut apart by one-way pairs, streetcar tracks and the transit-priority stretch of King Street between Bathurst and Jarvis, where a car cannot cross an intersection straight through. A chauffeur who knows that turns onto Adelaide or Richmond instead of discovering it at the light with your flight closing.
Most downtown work begins in one of three places. The towers between Bay and York send people to Terminal 1 before dawn and take them home after 22:00. Yorkville hotels send couples to Roy Thomson Hall and collect them ninety minutes later. King West and Liberty Village send whole tables to dinner and, much later, home in two cars. Each is a different loading problem: a tower has a signed bay under the building, a restaurant on King has a bike lane, a patio and nowhere lawful to stop.
So downtown pickups are staged rather than parked. There is almost no legal standing on Front, King or Queen on a Friday evening, and a car circling the block is a car that is somewhere else when you walk out. Your chauffeur waits nearby and legally, on a hotel forecourt or a side street south of the venue, and you have the plate and the waiting spot by text before you stand up.

On the ground
Where the cars actually go
Financial District
Bay and King towers with signed loading bays under the building. We use those rather than the plaza, which is usually fenced for a build.
Yorkville
Hotel forecourts on Avenue Road and Yorkville Avenue, with the Bloor Street blocks a two-minute walk behind them.
King West
Restaurants between Bathurst and Spadina, where a bike lane runs past the door and the side the car opens on is decided in advance.
Distillery District
The lanes inside are pedestrian cobbles, so we meet at Mill and Parliament rather than promise a door no vehicle reaches.
Harbourfront
Queens Quay hotels, the island ferry docks and the cruise terminal, all reached from under the Gardiner rather than along it.
The Annex and Rosedale
House pickups off Avenue Road, Davenport and Mount Pleasant, where the driveways are short and we do not block a neighbour.
The roads between
Corridors your chauffeur plans around
The Gardiner Expressway
The quick line west to the 427 and Pearson, and the first road in the city to close for a weekend repair. Dispatch checks it before every airport run out of the core.
The Don Valley Parkway
North and east to the 401 and the 404. Southbound it fills from Eglinton well before 07:00, which is why an 07:30 pickup leaves at 07:00.
Lake Shore Boulevard West
The surface alternative when the Gardiner is shut. Slower by the clock, but it never traps a car between two ramps with no way off.
University Avenue
Hospitals, consulates and Queen's Park, and the cleanest north-south run from the Financial District up to Bloor.
Four airports
Typical drive times from here
Ranges rather than promises. Each one is an ordinary run in ordinary traffic, and dispatch re-times your pickup when the corridor says otherwise.
Toronto Pearson
YYZTypical drive 30 to 50 minutes
Gardiner west to the 427 north, or the 401 when the Gardiner is closed. A 16:00 departure out of the core sits at the top of that range; a Sunday at 05:00 is well under it.
Billy Bishop Toronto City
YTZTypical drive 10 to 20 minutes
Bay Street to the mainland terminal is about seven minutes on a clear road. Budget for the walk through the tunnel rather than for the drive.
John C. Munro Hamilton
YHMTypical drive 55 to 80 minutes
Gardiner and QEW past Oakville and Burlington, then Highway 6 up the escarpment. Friday afternoons add a quarter of an hour, nearly all of it west of Oakville.
Buffalo Niagara
BUFTypical drive 2 hours to 2 hours 30, plus the border
QEW to the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie, or over the Queenston-Lewiston crossing when the Fort Erie queue is long. Bring your travel documents; the wait at customs is ours.

Quoted for a weekday pickup outside the 22:00 to 06:00 ET window and off the statutory holiday calendar; the overnight and holiday supplements are set per vehicle and appear on your quote before you confirm. Tolls, airport fees and your chauffeur's waiting time are already inside the fare, and HST at 13% is shown on its own line.
Venues and addresses
The places we are asked for most
Scotiabank Arena
Drop-offs use Bremner and Lower Simcoe. After a full house we collect two blocks west, because the doors do not move for twenty minutes.
Metro Toronto Convention Centre
The north and south buildings are a five-minute walk apart, so the booking names the hall rather than the street number.
Roy Thomson Hall
Simcoe Street fills solid before a concert. The dependable pickup is on King at Ed Mirvish Way, a short walk from the lobby.
Union Station
The Front Street lanes are restricted at the busiest hours, so we meet on York or Bay at the doors nearest your platform.
Fairmont Royal York
A covered forecourt on the Front Street side, and the one downtown pickup that is genuinely dry in February.

Questions from this part of the map
Where will my chauffeur wait if there is nowhere to stop?
Somewhere lawful within a block or two, and you will know exactly where. The chauffeur name, the vehicle and the plate reach you by text with the waiting spot named, so you walk out to a car instead of watching one circle.
Can you collect on King Street with the transit restrictions in force?
Yes. Cars may still enter King and turn off it, so we load from a cross street rather than driving the corridor, and you are told which corner before you leave the table. It costs a thirty-second walk and saves ten minutes of circling.
What changes on a game or concert night?
Dispatch moves the pickup away from the venue doors and sends you the corner in advance. Bremner, Lower Simcoe and Front lock solid once a crowd is out, and a car sitting in that is no use to you.
