North of the 407, where Yonge Street slows right down
Richmond Hill is long and narrow, climbing north along Yonge Street from Langstaff to Oak Ridges and the moraine. Yonge here is a signalled arterial with left turns and transit lanes, not a through road, which is why the quick line to anywhere south is almost always the 404 even when the map suggests otherwise. Local knowledge in this town mostly means knowing when not to use Yonge.
The commercial centre sits east of Leslie in the Beaver Creek business park, with hotels and offices clustered where Highway 7 meets the 404. That is where the weekday morning work is: airport transfers, client collections and the occasional full roadshow day. West of Yonge the town turns residential fast, and Bayview Hill, Mill Pond and Jefferson are house pickups with driveways long enough to turn a full-size SUV in.
The north end is different again. Oak Ridges and Lake Wilcox sit on the moraine, ten minutes further out and a good deal darker on a winter morning, and they are the reason a car heading for a 07:00 departure leaves before most people would think of getting up. Between them and the town centre are the David Dunlap Observatory lands, Mackenzie Health on Major Mackenzie and the performing arts centre at Yonge and Sixteenth.

Where the cars actually go
Bayview Hill
Large lots east of Bayview with private drives, so the car waits at the door rather than on the road.
Mill Pond
Older streets west of Yonge around the pond and Mill Street, narrow enough that a sedan is the sensible choice in winter.
Oak Ridges and Lake Wilcox
The far north end on the moraine, ten minutes beyond the town centre and the first to be affected by snow.
Jefferson
Newer blocks on the Bathurst side, usually reached along Major Mackenzie rather than through the Yonge Street lights.
Beaver Creek
The business park east of Leslie, with hotels at Highway 7 and ramp access to the 404 in under three minutes.
Langstaff
The southern edge at Yonge and Highway 7, close to the GO corridor and often quicker to reach from the 407.

Why does the car go east to the 404 instead of straight down Yonge?
Because Yonge is a signalled arterial through this town and the 404 is not. The few extra kilometres east are usually worth ten to fifteen minutes, and on a morning with a flight at the end of it that is the whole margin.
Do you serve Oak Ridges in winter weather?
Yes, and we build in the extra time rather than pretend it does not exist. The moraine holds snow after the town centre is clear, so a winter pickup up there is scheduled earlier and the chauffeur leaves our base sooner.
Can I book a car for an evening rather than a single trip?
An hourly charter does exactly that: the same chauffeur holds the vehicle for dinner, a performance and the drive home, with the minimum block set per vehicle on the fleet pages. It is the usual booking for a theatre evening at Yonge and Sixteenth.
