The terminal, and the bridge before it
Two things decide a Buffalo trip: the hall you are met in, and the crossing we take you home through. Both are arranged before the car leaves.
The passenger terminal
The major United States carriers, with the domestic network that draws travellers down from the Golden Horseshoe in the first place.
- At the vehicle
- The kerb here is managed for commercial traffic, so the default is a name card in the hall and a short walk to the car rather than a vehicle standing outside the doors.
- Met inside
- Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with a discreet digital name card, takes the luggage and walks you out. Dispatch texts the plate and the chauffeur’s name before you land.
- Departures
- Departures are dropped at the departures level. We build the crossing and the airline’s cut-off into the pickup time, not the driving.
The crossings
The Peace Bridge at Fort Erie and the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge upriver, which are the two we use between the GTA and Buffalo.
- At the vehicle
- Dispatch reads the published wait times for both before the car leaves and takes whichever is moving. A long queue at Fort Erie is a reason to go up to Queenston, not a reason to sit.
- Met inside
- Your chauffeur presents at the primary inspection booth with you. Officers deal with each traveller individually, and everyone in the vehicle answers for themselves.
- Departures
- Bridge tolls are inside your fixed fare in both directions. Whatever the wait costs us in time, it does not change the figure you agreed.
Worth knowing
What every traveller must carry
A chauffeur cannot clear you across a border. What we can do is get you to the right booth with time in hand and tell you plainly what to have ready, so nothing is discovered at the window. This is a statement of what is required at the crossing, not legal or immigration advice.
- A valid passport for every traveller
- Children and infants included, each with their own document. Bring your NEXUS card as well if you hold one; it stays useful even when the dedicated lanes are not available to the vehicle.
- Any visa or travel authorisation your nationality requires
- Entry to the United States is decided by US Customs and Border Protection, and entry to Canada on the way back by the Canada Border Services Agency. Check the current requirement for your own passport with them before you book; we cannot advise on it and cannot influence it.
- Papers for a child travelling without both parents
- Officers on both sides may ask for a letter of consent from the parent or guardian who is not travelling, together with the child’s documents.
- Goods, currency and anything declarable
- Declare what you are carrying, in either direction. A secondary inspection costs time rather than money on our side, because the border wait is already inside your fixed fare.

Bridge tolls and the time spent at customs are inside the fare. A secondary inspection that runs long costs us the afternoon, not you the difference.
Quoted for a weekday pickup outside the 22:00 to 06:00 ET window and off the statutory holiday calendar; the overnight and holiday supplements are set per vehicle and appear on your quote before you confirm. HST at 13% is added as its own line, gratuity is at your discretion, and addresses outside these zones are quoted by distance and time before you book. The stretch limousine is not offered on airport work; it cannot use the terminal limousine stalls the way a sedan or an SUV can.

You are met in the hall
Sixty minutes of wait time start at touchdown. Your chauffeur has the luggage and the walk to the vehicle is short.

Every traveller answers for themselves at the booth, the toll is already inside the fare, and the figure you agreed is the figure on the invoice however long the queue was.

Private arrivals into Buffalo
Private and business aircraft clear United States customs where the airport designates rather than in the passenger terminal, and the ground side of that is the general aviation apron. Your chauffeur waits at the FBO lounge door while you clear.

What to expect between Buffalo and the Golden Horseshoe
From downtown Toronto the airport is a little over two hours of driving plus whatever the bridge costs, and from Niagara Falls it is well under an hour. The QEW carries you to Fort Erie for the Peace Bridge, or across the river at Queenston for the Lewiston crossing and the American side of the parkway. Summer weekends, holiday Mondays and the hour either side of a Bills home game are the predictable queues, and dispatch plans around them rather than discovering them.
A cross-border run is a charter rather than a shuttle, so it is priced and confirmed as one job: the drive down, the wait, the return, the tolls. We do not bill the border wait by the minute, and we do not ask you to settle anything in United States dollars. The one thing we cannot do is speed up an officer, which is why the documents band above is written as plainly as it is.

Cross-border questions we get asked
What documents does everyone in the car need?
A valid passport each, children included, plus any visa or travel authorisation your nationality requires for the United States and for the return to Canada. Bring a NEXUS card if you hold one, and a letter of consent if a child is crossing without both parents. Entry is decided by the border agencies, not by us.
How long does the border take?
Anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour, and it is published live by both agencies. Dispatch reads it before the car leaves and picks the crossing accordingly. Whatever it turns out to be, it is inside the fixed fare.
Am I charged in Canadian or United States dollars?
Canadian dollars, with HST at 13% shown as its own line. There is no conversion, no card held and nothing charged on this site.
What happens if we are sent to secondary inspection?
Your chauffeur parks and waits for as long as it takes, and the fare does not move. Secondary inspection is a normal part of crossing a border and it is built into how we quote these runs.
Can you take us down for a departure from Buffalo?
Yes, and it is the half of this work that needs the most planning. We time the pickup backwards from the airline’s cut-off with the crossing counted in, and dispatch calls you the evening before with the time we have arrived at.
Can you collect us at Niagara Falls on the way?
Yes. Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake are on the fixed-fare table above, and a stop at a hotel on either side of the river is arranged when you book rather than negotiated in the car.
